A recent strategic meeting under the EU–Pakistan Business Network (EUPKBN) marked an important step forward in advancing dialogue on sustainable investment, connectivity and private sector collaboration under the EU’s Global Gateway initiative.
Bringing together representatives from European and Pakistani business communities, institutional stakeholders and development partners, the discussion focused on identifying practical avenues for cooperation aligned with Pakistan’s economic development priorities and the EU’s investment agenda.
Participants discussed opportunities across a range of sectors, including renewable energy, digital infrastructure, industrial modernisation, logistics, information technology and export-oriented manufacturing. Particular attention was given to how the private sector can play a stronger role in developing commercially viable projects capable of attracting international financing and development support.
Constructive discussions also addressed governance arrangements, strategic priorities and future operational mechanisms for the platform. A shared emphasis emerged around strengthening coordination between public institutions and industry stakeholders, enhancing export competitiveness, promoting ESG-aligned business practices, and improving awareness of investment opportunities linked to the Global Gateway framework.
The meeting further highlighted the importance of technical engagement on financing structures, project preparation and investment readiness, particularly in emerging sectors such as digital connectivity and advanced infrastructure.
Overall, the exchange reflected a strong spirit of collaboration and a mutual commitment to deepening EU–Pakistan economic engagement through sustainable growth, strategic partnerships and long-term investment cooperation.
