The Global Gateway initiative, led by the European Union and coordinated by the EU Delegation in Pakistan, represents a strategic framework to promote sustainable, high-quality investment and connectivity. In this context, the Global Gateway Platform (GGP) under EUPKBN serves as a key mechanism to support and contribute towards its implementation at the business and policy levels.
Designed as a collaborative and forward-looking mechanism, the Platform brings together European businesses to contribute and support the EU’s Global Gateway strategy. It aims to contribute to the EU’s coordinated engagement, support the development of investment-ready opportunities, and foster an enabling environment for sustainable economic growth.
The Platform’s strategic focus is centered around four key areas:
- Institutional Coordination: Supporting more streamlined and effective engagement between stakeholders to enhance policy coherence and investment facilitation.
- Export Facilitation and Industrial Upgrading: Encouraging improvements in trade processes and promoting technology cooperation to strengthen competitiveness and value addition.
- Project Development and Investment Pipeline: Advancing the identification and structuring of bankable projects in sectors such as energy, digital, transport, climate, and critical raw materials.
- Visibility: Strengthening awareness, communication, and collaboration to highlight the EU’s role as a long-term partner in sustainable investment.
Through regular engagement, structured dialogue, and collaboration across stakeholders, the Platform is expected to play a key role in supporting a more coordinated, transparent, and opportunity-driven investment landscape, reinforcing the EU–Pakistan partnership for inclusive and sustainable growth.
